UP NEET PG Counselling 2021 is a state conducted online counselling process through which MBBS Passed aspirants can participate to secure admission to MD/MS Courses in the Top Govt./Private Medical Institutions in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

DGMET, UP i.e. Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP is the sole authority, which is being assigned to carry out the counselling process for PG aspirants. The entire counselling process is based on the NEET PG Score, Achieved Rank, and state Merit list prepared by the competent authority.

There are a total of 891 MD/MS seats in the government and privately established Medical Colleges altogether in the state of UP. Candidates seeking admission to MD/MS in the Top Medical Colleges need to participate in the counselling that goes up to two rounds followed by a Mop-Up round. Conditionally Unclaimed/Vacant seats after the 2nd round of MCC Counselling for all All India Quota gets returned to the state quota for Mop-Up round conducted by DGMET, UP. UP DGME is authorized to fill 50% of seats in the Govt./Govt. Aided Medical Colleges while 100% seats are filled by UP DGME in Private/Trust Medical Colleges.

The same sequence of events will be going on for Round 2. Aspirants must be aware of the fact that the Mop-up/Final round will only be carried out by MCC for Deemed/Central Universities and ESIC Institutes.

UP NEET PG Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria

To secure a seat in the Premier Medical Institutions in the state of Uttar Pradesh, certain eligibility needs to be fulfilled. Required eligibility criteria are being mentioned below.

  • Candidates must have completed MBBS with a one-year Mandatory Internship from an NMC (Earlier MCI), New Delhi, recognized Institute.
  • Candidates having domicile of UP but have completed their MBBS from an Institute outside UP can apply under 50% AIQ Seat through NEET PG Counselling.
  • Only those candidates are eligible for admission to the seats of Govt./State/Deemed Universities who have passed MBBS from the state of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Those candidates who do not belong to the state of UP and have completed their MBBS outside the state can only apply for PG in the Private Medical Institutes.
  • Candidates must have acquired the required percentile in NEET PG 2021.

UP NEET PG Counselling 2021: Required Documents

UP DGME releases the merit list along with an allotment letter for shortlisted candidates on the official portal of DGME i.e. https://updgme.in. The letter contains details of the candidate, secured rank, category, allotted college, and reporting schedule. Candidates will be required to report at the allotted college physically for document verification and to confirm their respective seats in the Top Medical Institutions of the state. The required list of documents that need to be carried while reporting to the college is listed below.

UP NEET PG Counselling 2021 is a full-fledged sequence of events that needs to be participated by the aspirants seeking admission to MD/MS Courses in the Premier Medical Institutions of Uttar Pradesh. The entire counselling process is online conducted by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lucknow on the behalf of Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP. Candidates are advised to be ascertained of the entire counselling process mentioned below.

Online Application/Registration:

Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of UP Govt. i.e. https://upneet.gov.in

  • Candidates have to use their NEET PG Roll no. and Email id for registration and follow instructions on the screen.
  • Candidates then need to make a Non-Refundable online payment of Rs. 2,000 and a confirmation message of successful registration will be sent to the registered mobile number along with the Transaction number.

Security Money Payment:

  • Only those candidates are eligible for Choice filling who shall make successful Online payment of Rs. 30,000 for Government seats and Rs. 2,00,000 for Private seats as ‘Security Money’.
  • After paying security money and the state merit list has been declared, the choice-filling option will be available as per the schedule.

Choice Filling:

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://upneet.gov.in and click on choice filling.

Procedure of Choice filling:

  • Login for Choice filling by using NEET Roll number and Password created at the time of Registration.
  • Candidates can fill choices as many times as they wish and can be edited any number of times up till the final submission. Candidates are advised to save the changes and choose the ‘Submit and Lock’ option available at the end.

Allotment Result:

  • Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the UP DGME website.
  • Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.
  • Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

  • This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.
  • Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will be taken place.
