Dharmsinh Desai University  was established in 1968 and was formally known as Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology (DDIT). Its Management Department was formed in 1994. In 1991 DDU became a Autonomous University. In 1999 the Faculty of Management and Information Science was established and provided courses like B.B.A, M.B.A and M.C.A.
