NRI Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the premier medical institutions in Andhra Pradesh. The medical college started functioning in the year 2012 with the intent to educate and groom qualified doctors who can contribute to society. The medical institution is popularly known as NRIIMS, Visakhapatnam. 

The medical college campus is spread across 10.75 lakh sq. ft. that includes a hospital, staff quarters, and hostels. The campus is equipped with a state-of-the-art library with 15,000 books and an evaluation center. NRIIMS Visakhapatnam is affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. 

As far as the academic programs are concerned, currently NRIIMS Visakhapatnam offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level to 150 seats per academic session. Besides it, certain Clinical and Para-Clinical branches are offered at the Postgraduate level. NRI Institute of Medical Sciences Visakhapatnam: Eligibility Criteria

To secure a seat in MBBS and PG Courses in NRIIMS, Visakhapatnam, the candidates need to hold certain eligibility criteria which are discussed below.

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec’ 2021. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’21 are not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 31st of July in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

NRI Institute of Medical Sciences Visakhapatnam: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. NRI Institute of Medical Sciences Visakhapatnam offers MD and MS Courses along with the Superspecialty program. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Vijayawada. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling.
