Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences based in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh is one of the premier medical institutes in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences is the first and only teaching hospital of its kind. The district of Vizianagaram is a historical city in Andhra Pradesh. 

Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences popularly known as MIMS Vizianagaram is managed and sponsored by Sri Rama Educational Trust. The medical college was established in 2002 and since its inception, the college has gained immense appreciation for its academic programs and hi-tech clinical infrastructure.

Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences Vizianagaram offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
• The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec’ 2021. The candidates who do not complete 17 years as on 31st Dec’21 are not eligible.
• Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 31st of July in the same year of applying.
• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences Vizianagaram: Admission Process

All the admissions to any of the UG and PG Courses are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences Vizianagaram offers MD and MS Courses along with the Superspecialty program. 

Students who wish to take admission to this college, need to obtain the required percentile in NEET followed by the counselling conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Vijayawada. Only NEET-qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling.

Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences offers a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. The MBBS course in this college is 5.5 years long including 1 year of mandatory internship.
