Introduction: Lobachevsky Russian National Research University is founded in 1961 as a public university in Russia. The university celebrate foundation day on January 30th. The university was first university who provide higher university in Nizhny Novgorod. Later the Polytechnic Institute merged with Lobachevsky Russian National Research University. Interestingly the university has awarded as a status of “State University”. Thus, Lobachevsky Russian National Research University became the first university set up in Soviet Sate. By the mid of 20th century, Lobachevsky Russian National Research University became a research and educational hub.

Set by Set Admission process for Lobachevsky Russian National Research University

Step 1: Choose a programme and check eligibility criteria. The university offers more the 140 academic programme.

Step 2: You have to fill a Online application available on Official website of the university.

Step 3: you will get a provisional approval from the university

Step 4: Pass online examination test

Examination test is taken through the Examus service in the online monitoring mode of the entrance test process (proctoring).

You must ensure that the following technical and software requirements are met:

• registration in the e-learning system mooc.unn.ru

• Operating system – Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8/7, Mac OS X 11 or higher, Linux.

• The installed Google Chrome Internet browser with the latest version at the time of passing the Test

• Web-camera (built-in or external) with resolution of at least 640×480.

• An Internet access channel with a bandwidth of at least 1 Mbps.

• The installed Client application of the Examus service of the latest version at the time of use.

Then you will receive full instructions concerning examination process.

Note: Violations of the Rules for passing the entrance test include*:

Non-compliance of the real person undergoing entrance tests with the declared system user.

Lack of actions (mouse movements, text input, chat responses, etc.) in the App for 10 minutes or more.

It is prohibited to leave the room in which an applicant passes the entrance test.

It is prohibited to use any means of communication and any software with the exception of Examus.

Step 5. Complete your registration

Once you have been admitted to a degree programme, you will receive a detailed Acceptance letter which clearly states the terms of enrolment and requirements for Master’s degree programme. If you accept UNN admission offer, you will be sent a Learning Agreement you should sign and send back to the International Students Office. The University signs 2 copies of the Learning Agreement, registers and certifies them with its seal. Afterwards you will receive one copy of the signed Learning Agreement by e-mail.

Step 6. Pay the tuition fees

Tuition fees should be paid before your arrival at the University. This can be done by bank transfer to the University’s account (you will find the account number in the Invoice). In this case you pay the fee under the registered study contract at your local bank and send a copy of receipt to the University.

Step 8. Coming to Nizhny Novgorod

Now that you have completed registration, it’s time to prepare for your stay in Nizhny Novgorod. Visit the section on practical matters to learn more about housing, insurance, visas and other important matters.

After you obtain the visa and buy the plane (train) tickets to Nizhny Novgorod, please inform the University about the date of your arrival. On the additional request (please, contact your admissions officer), you can be met at Nizhny Novgorod airport or railroad station and guided to the University.

Students must come to Russia no later than one month before the expiry of the initial three-month visa in order to have enough time to prolong this student visa. The Ministry of Internal Affairs may refuse to prolong your visa if you come to Russia later than this date.

Note: It is a must to come to the International Students Office (UNN, build. 2, office 306) and to the Visa and Immigration Support Office (UNN, build. 2, office 305) on the first working day after your arrival in Nizhny Novgorod in order to be registered in the MIA.

Accommodation in the university

Comfortable dormitory available in the university for the International Student situated in Lobachevsky Russian National Research University. International students live in 3-bedded rooms, equipped with the necessary furniture and bedding. All rooms in the student dormitory have Internet access points. Lavatories, washrooms and kitchens are located on each floor. There are also classrooms on each floor of the student dormitory. There is also a student canteen, grocery stores, banks and a sport complex nearby. Round-the-clock security is provided for maximum safety of the students. Standard accommodation costs around 3 220 RUB per month. Please, note, that the dormitory should be pre-paid for a semester.

International students take an active part in the life of the University: together with Russian students they perform in concerts, organize students’ parties, participate in contests, festivals and sport events, they are represented in the Student Council of the University.

All this gives international students a great opportunity to make friends all around the world, to learn the cultural peculiarities of a new country, provides them with the skills necessary for their future professional career in the globalizing world.

International Students actively participate in the activities of the International Students Club of Nizhni Novgorod, which also cooperates with various organizations and governing bodies in the framework of international students support programmes.
