KPC Medical College and Hospital is one of the state-of-the-art medical colleges founded in the capital city of Kolkata. KPC Medical College and Hospital was primarily established as a hospital in 2006. Later in 2008, KPC Medical College and Hospital started academic courses at distinct levels.

The medical college is popularly known as KPCMCH. This is a society, registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. The parent society is formed by a non-profit foundation, sponsored and promoted by the renowned Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Kali Pradip Chaudhari.

In 2008, KPC Medical College & Hospital was established and affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and approved by the Govt. of West Bengal and recognized by the National Medical Commission (Earlier MCI), New Delhi.

As far as academic programs are concerned, KPC Medical College & Hospital is currently imparting advanced medical education to 150 MBBS Students. Apart from MBBS, Several clinical and pre-clinical seats are offered at the Postgraduate level.

KPC Medical College and Hospital Kolkata: Eligibility Criteria

KPC Medical College and Hospital Kolkata offer MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Aspiring students need to qualify in NEET conducted by NTA followed by the counselling conducted by WBMCC, Kolkata.

To secure a seat in MBBS and PG Courses in KPCMCH Kolkata. The candidates need to hold certain eligibility criteria which are discussed below.

For MBBS Aspirants:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same. 
  • Candidates need to attain 17 years of age. Less than mentioned age will not be entertained in any circumstances.
  • Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG with the required percentile. 

For MD/MS Aspirants:

  • Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.
  • Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before 31st of March in the same year of applying.
  • Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.
  • Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET-PG for General Category and for reserved category, the requirement is 40 percentile in the same.

KPC Medical College and Hospital Kolkata: Admission Process

In order to take admission in MBBS and PG Courses in KPC Medical College Kolkata, Candidates are required to qualify NEET-UG or NEET-PG for MD/MS Courses. MBBS Program is well recognized by the NMC, New Delhi.

Students who wish to take admission in KPCMCH Kolkata, need to obtain the 50th Percentile for General Candidates, and for Reserved category students, the 40th Percentile is required. NEET qualified candidates have to participate in the counselling conducted by the West Bengal Main Computerised Counselling.

Admission to Govt. state quota can only be made by the state domicile candidates. In the case of Management seats, All India Quota students can approach, however for every MBBS Seat, the counselling authority will be the same.

The college offers an MBBS Program that carries a duration of 4.5 years of Academic Course and 1 year of Mandatory Internship. The entire duration of the course is 5.5 years.

Being one of the reputed medical colleges in the state of West Bengal, KPC Medical College & Hospital Kolkata has recently started postgraduate courses in medical sciences. The medical college offers MD Degree in 12 distinct branches. 

It offers General Medicine, Pathology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Orthopaedics, and more specialties with a duration of 3 years. KPC Medical College Kolkata also offers MS courses in 4 Specialities. The duration of the course is 3 years.

KPC Medical College and Hospital Kolkata: Stipend for PG Students

Being one of the top medical colleges in West Bengal, KPC Medical College Kolkata provides a stipend to the PG students right from the first year of their Academics.
