In Karnataka, there are a total of 57 medical colleges offering the MBBS programs as of May 2021. Out of a total of 57 medical colleges, there are 19 Government, 30 Private, and 9 Deemed Medical Colleges of India. 

As far as total MBBS seats are concerned, there are total of 6995 MBBS Seats available in Karnataka, Government Medical Colleges of Karnataka offer 2750 MBBS Seats, and 4095 MBBS Seats available in private medical colleges. Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2021: Counselling Process

Karnataka NEET Counselling 2021 is a state Centralized Online Counselling Process. The sole authority to conduct online NEET UG Counselling 2021 is Karnataka Education Authority i.e. KEA, Bangalore.

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://kea.kar.nic.in for registration on the basis of NEET UG Score 2021. Candidates can apply to MBBS/BDS Courses in various Government/Private medical colleges in the state of Karnataka.

In order to secure an MBBS seat in Deemed Medical College, Candidates will have to register at https://mcc.nic.in. There are two rounds of counselling that take place followed by a Mop-Up round of NEET Counselling 2021 is subjected to the availability of MBBS/BDS Seats after the 2nd round.

Admissions to the Medical/Dental/Ayush colleges of Karnataka are solely based on the NEET 2021 score. Only NEET 2021 qualified candidates can participate in the Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2021. Details information is being shared in the article below.

Registration:

  • Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://kea.kar.nic.in  and submit the counselling fee which is Rs. 500/650/1000 through Internet banking or any online mode.
  • KEA, Bangalore will publish the Karnataka NEET 2021 merit list for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

  • Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://kea.kar.nic.in website by using their registration number and Transaction Id generated at the time of registration.
  • Candidates have to fill their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many they wish.

Allotment Result:

  • Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the KEA, Bangalore at https://kea.kar.nic.in
  • Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.
  • Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

  • This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.
  • Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will be taken place.

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have qualified NEET-UG 2021.
  • Candidates must have the domicile of Karnataka (Differ for NRI/Other Quota)
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as Core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks, 40% marks required for SC/ST Category candidates.
  • The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of Dec’31st 2021. Candidates born on or after Jan’2nd 2004, will not be entertained. 

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2021: Documents Required

Candidates who are qualified NEET-UG 2021 conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), are eligible as well as to participate in the Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2021. Among the sequence of events of NEET-UG Counselling 2021 conducted by KEA, Bangalore, the last event is to report to the college before the last date of admission.

  Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2021: Seat Category

Each MBBS/BDS Seat in the medical colleges in Karnataka is carrying a separate identity. Only NEET-UG 2021 qualified candidates, who have become eligible after verification of documents, are allowed to participate in the allotment of Medical/Dental/Ayush seats as per the eligibility and reservation criteria.

There are 4 types of seats in the entire Medical/Dental/Ayush Colleges in the state of Karnataka, that can be claimed as per the eligibility mentioned by KEA, Bangalore.

G- Government Seats

It stands for the seats in Government Medical Colleges and Government Shares in Private Medical/Dental Colleges in Karnataka.   

  • 100% of seats in Gov. Medical/Dental Colleges.
  • 40% of seats in Medical Private Non-Minority Colleges.
  • 25% of seats in Medical Private Minority Colleges.

P- Private Seats

It refers to the Medical/Dental seats in the Private Colleges which came under the ambit of KPCF, AMPCK, and KRLMPCA. These terms are explained below.

  • 40% of seats in Medical Colleges are reserved as Private quota seats in Karnataka Non-Minority Colleges.
  • 50% of seats (Out of 40%) are only for Karnataka Candidates.
  • The remaining 50% of seats (Out of 40%) are Open quota for NEET-UG 2021 All India Merit.

N- NRI Seats

It stands for 15% of the total seats reserved for NRI Quota in different Minority, Non-Minority, and Professional Private Medical Colleges in Karnataka.

Q- Other Seats

It means 5% of the total seats are reserved for others, which refers to the candidate, outside Karnataka in KPCF, KRLMPCA, and AMPCK Colleges.
