Government Medical College Patiala is one of the oldest and best medical colleges in Punjab. The medical institute was founded back in 1953 and formally inaugurated by then prime minister Pt. Eligibility Criteria for Admission to GMC Patiala

Government Medical College located in Patiala is one of the top government medical colleges in Punjab. There are certain eligibility criteria formulated and set up by the collective guidelines of NMC and BFUHS Faridkot. Candidates need to follow certain guidelines to participate in the Punjab MBBS counselling 2023.

For MBBS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board.

• Candidates belonging to OBC Category must possess 45% marks in the same subject combination and for SC/ST Category, the required percentage is 40%. 

• Candidates need to attain 17 years of age. Less than mentioned age will not be entertained under any circumstances.

• Candidates must have qualified for NEET-UG 2023 with the required percentile.

• Candidates need to produce relevant domicile certificates for the state quota seats under 85% state quota.

For MD/MS Aspirants:

• Candidates must have passed MBBS from a recognized University by the NMC.

• Candidates need to have completed 1 Year of mandatory Internship on or before the 11th of August in the same year of applying.

• Candidates need to produce permanent/provisional registration provided by the NMC (Earlier MCI) or the respective state medical council.

Admission process in GMC Patiala

MD MS Admission to GMC Patiala 

Being one of the top government medical colleges in Punjab, GMC Patiala is offering advanced postgraduate medical courses in various streams. GMC Patiala offers several Clinical and Non-clinical courses with a duration of 3 years. Advanced clinical and para-clinical programs are being offered for MD Degrees in 19 distinct branches.
