Government Medical College and Hospital is one of the top government medical colleges in Punjab. The medical institute is referred to as GMCH Chandigarh. The college was established in 1991 and since then advanced medical programs have been imparted to the candidates seeking admission to GMCH Chandigarh.

GMCH Chandigarh is a government medical college and affiliated with Punjab University since its foundation. Eligibility for Admission to GMCH Chandigarh

• 10th, 11th, and 12th must be passed from the college recognized by Chandigarh Administration.

OR

• Parents of the candidate must be a resident of UT of Chandigarh for the past 5 years.

OR

• Parents of the candidate are employees of Central/State Govt. at least for the past 3 years.

OR

• Candidates who are wards of Serving Defence Personnel having permanent residency of UT of Chandigarh

OR

• Candidates have to submit an Undertaking that he/she has not opted for and claimed the benefit of residence in any other state/UT.

Admission Process in GMCH Chandigarh

Candidates need to qualify for NEET-UG 2023 in order to get an MBBS seat and in the case of MD MS Programs, candidates have to qualify for NEET-PG 2023. GMCH Chandigarh also offers a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) program in Neonatology, for which candidates need to possess a PG Degree with permanent registration with NMC/State Medical Council and also need to qualify for NEET-SS 2023 conducted by NBE New Delhi.

After qualifying for the entrance exams i.e. NEET 2023, Candidates need to participate in the counselling conducted by MCC and BFUHS Faridkot. For All India Quota seats, candidates need to participate in the counselling conducted by MCC which can be visited at https://mcc.nic.in for the latest counselling updates.
