Dayanand Medical College & Hospital is the oldest and the top medical college in Punjab. DMCH is the only medical college in North India with 1326 bedded teaching hospital attached to the medical college itself. DMCH Ludhiana was established back in the Pre-Independence era in 1934. 

Initially, the medical college was known as Arya Medical School Ludhiana. Later in 1964, with the noble intent of govt. of Punjab, the Arya Medical School turned into a full-fledged MBBS College, which came to be known as Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana. The management of the college came under the aegis of the “Managing Society of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana”.

DMCH Ludhiana was established as a constituent unit of the Managing Society of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana. This is Private, Unaided, and founded with the noble intent of promoting advanced medical education. DMCH Ludhiana is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot.
