Columbus Central University School of Medicine (CCUSOM) in Belize City was established in 2006 and has become one of the best medical schools in the Caribbean.

The Belize Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Medical Council of India have both accredited CCUSO. The school is an accredited gateway to the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Medical Director.

CCUSOM is a member of Medical Council of India (MCI), World Health Organization (WHO), Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG),

United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), Medical Council of Canada (MCC), Regering van Belize. CCUSOM Belize is a Caribbean country located on the northeastern coast of Central America. The country borders Mexico to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the east, and Guatemala to the west and south. The country has the lowest population density in Central America. Belize is a tropical country with more than 40% preserved as parks and wildlife sanctuaries, so studying in Belize offers an exciting educational experience with many opportunities for adventure. Columbus Central University has American standard infrastructure with a well-equipped campus. These facilities contribute to students' understanding and learning of knowledge. CCU is a wireless campus where students can access student resources such as course objectives, course descriptions, class notes and PowerPoint presentations, in addition to classroom teacher training through a learning management system based on cloud. CCUSOM also offers a personal mentoring program. In 2020, the university opened a new building for teaching and learning, special conditions and a new learning space that offers students additional space for independent or team study and of course a dining hall.

In addition, students can take Kaplan Medical and AMBOSS courses, which are core subjects of the USMLE assessment, as early as the first semester, giving students a solid foundation in the basic sciences and preparing for the USMLE Step-1 exam. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) takes 4.5 years.

ELIGIBILITY 

• Applicants must be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the year of admission.

• Students are required to take the NEET exam, an exam administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

• NEET scoreboard should not exceed 3 years.

•  The major subjects in year 12 should be Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 

• Students must score 50% in a combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

•  Candidates must have secured 50% marks in 12th standard from CBSE/ISC or other equivalent examination board.

•  In addition, applicants may be required to submit a medical certificate stating that they are free from contagious diseases at the time of admission.
