Calcutta National Medical College is one of the top government medical colleges in Kolkata established and taken over by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Govt. of West Bengal in 1967. Earlier Calcutta National Medical College was an amalgamation of the National Medical Institute and Calcutta Medical Institute. In 1967, both colleges merged to became Calcutta National Medical College popularly known as CNMC Kolkata. As far as recognition is concerned, CNMC Kolkata is recognised by the National Medical Commission New Delhi and well approved by MoHFW Govt. of India.

As of now, CNMC Kolkata is offering a ton of academic courses at distinct levels permitted by the NMC New Delhi and managed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal. Since Calcutta National Medical College Kolkata is a government medical college in West Bengal, hence state quota seats can only be considered for the domicile candidates of West Bengal under 85% state quota seats. Eligibility for Admission to CNMC Kolkata

CNMC Kolkata is known for its advanced medical courses imparted at distinct levels. There are certain eligibility criteria formulated by the collective guidelines of NMC New Delhi and WBUHS Kolkata. Domicile Candidates of West Bengal need to participate in the counselling conducted by WBMCC. For MBBS Candidates:

Candidates need to provide a domicile certificate stamped and signed by the competent authority. Candidates can download the domicile certificate proforma from https://wbmcc.nic.in.

Candidates need to qualify for NEET-UG 2023 with the required percentile.

Candidates need to have passed 12th with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Reserved category candidates need to possess 40% of the same.

Candidates need to attain 17 years of age by 31st Dec in the same year of applying. Less than mentioned age shall not be considered under any circumstances.

For MD MS Candidates:

Candidates need to provide a domicile certificate in the prescribed proforma available at https://wbmcc.nic.in to claim state quota.

Candidates must have passed MBBS from a medical college recognized by NMC.

Candidates need to qualify for NEET-PG 2023 with the required percentile.

Candidates need to produce a permanent/provisional registration certificate issued by NMC or any state medical council at the time of counselling. 

For NEET-SS Candidates:

Candidates must have passed MD or MS in any specialisations from any medical college recognized by NMC New Delhi.

Candidates must have qualified for NEET-SS 2023 conducted by NBE New Delhi.

For DM Programs, candidates need to possess an MD Degree in a specific branch of medicine.

For M.Ch. Programs, candidates need to possess an MS Degree in a specific branch of Surgery.

Admission Process in CNMC Kolkata
