B.K.L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College is a blessing in disguise as it is the much-needed medical institute in the entire rural region of Ratnagiri. The medical college is precisely situated at Sawarda village that lies across Mumbai-Goa Highway. BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College was started in 2015 by S.V.J.C Trust. The sole purpose of founding this medical college is to provide modern medical services to the rural population at their doorsteps.

BKL Walawalkar offers medical courses at UG and PG level in multiple specializations. The college has been affiliated to ‘Maharashtra University of Health Sciences’ i.e. MUHS. The college is well recognized by the National Medical Commission (Earlier MCI) and UGC as well. BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College is well attached with a Multispecialty hospital that is dedicated to offering medical services at the most affordable costs. Eligibility Criteria:

Walawalkar Rural Medical College offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. BKLWRMC, Ratnagiri is a privately established medical Institution in the state facilitating with appropriate reservation as per the order mentioned by DMER, Mumbai. • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English having 50% marks from any recognized board. Candidates from the reserved category need to possess 40% in the same.

• Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET-PG for General Category and reserved category, the requirement is 40 percentile in the same.

Admission Process:

All the admissions to any of the Medical Courses in BKLWRMC, Ratnagiri are strictly based on merit gained in the All India Entrance Exam i.e. NEET-UG and NEET-PG for Postgraduate courses. BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College, Ratnagiri offers MD and MS Courses in several Clinical and Non-Clinical programs.

As one of the Newest Private Medical Colleges in the Southern region of Maharashtra, BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College, Ratnagiri is imparting several Advanced Postgraduate Medical Courses. At present, BKLWRMC offers MD in several Clinical and Non-Clinical specializations along with MS in Orthopaedics and OBGY with a duration of 3 years. All the admissions to these PG Courses in the BKLWRMC, Ratnagiri are based on the score of NEET-PG followed by the centralized counselling conducted by the Maharashtra Cet, Mumbai on the behalf of DMER, Mumbai.

Candidates need to participate in the counselling conducted by MahaCET for distinct quotas. The hospital has been established by the same trust i.e. SVCT with an objective to provide medical facilities to the poor villagers around Dervan. • BKL Walawalkar Hospital & Research Centre has a fully functional and serving department of Emergency Medicine. The capacity to manage emergency cases is 24 patients at a time, equipped with dedicated OT and a staff room. The casualty area is very frequently busy carrying Trauma cases round the clock.   
• There are 10 bedded Intensive Care Unit in the Emergency department adjacent to the casualty area.
