Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital is a premier medical college in the State of West Bengal. The medical institute is popularly known as BGMCH Kolkata and was established in 2022 with the noble intent of the government of West Bengal. To cater to the health needs of North 24 Parganas district, BGMCH Kolkata is a boon to the people residing in the district.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Barasat Medical College Kolkata

Barasat Medical College Kolkata is known for its advanced medical courses imparted at distinct levels. There are certain eligibility criteria formulated by the collective guidelines of NMC New Delhi and WBUHS Kolkata. Domicile Candidates of West Bengal need to participate in the counselling conducted by WBMCC. For MBBS Candidates:

Candidates must provide a domicile certificate stamped and signed by the competent authority. Candidates can download the domicile certificate proforma from https://wbmcc.nic.in.

Candidates need to qualify for NEET-UG 2023 with the required percentile.

Candidates need to have passed 12th with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Reserved category candidates need to possess 40% of the same.

Candidates need to attain 17 years of age by 31st Dec in the same year of applying. Less than mentioned age shall not be considered under any circumstances.

For DNB Candidates:

Candidates need to provide a domicile certificate in the prescribed proforma available at https://wbmcc.nic.in to claim state quota.

Candidates must have passed MBBS from a medical college recognized by NMC.

Candidates need to qualify for NEET-PG 2023 with the required percentile.

Candidates need to produce a permanent/provisional registration certificate issued by NMC or any state medical council at the time of counselling. 

Admission Process in Barasat Medical College Kolkata
