Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021: Counselling Process

Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021 is a state Centralised Online Counselling Process. The sole authority to conduct online NEET PG Counselling 2021 is the Directorate of Medical Education i.e. DME, Assam. 

Candidates need to visit the official website at https://dme.assam.gov.in for registration on the basis of NEET PG Score 2021. Candidates can apply to MD/MS/PGD Courses in government medical colleges in the state of Assam.

Admissions to the Medical/Dental/Ayush colleges of Assam are solely based on the NEET PG 2021 score. Only NEET 2021 qualified candidates can participate in the Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021. Details are being shared in the article below.

Registration:

  • Candidates have to register on the website i.e. https://dme.assam.gov.in and submit the counselling fee which is Rs. 500 through Internet banking or any online mode.
  • DME, Assam will publish the Assam NEET PG 2021 Seat Allotment List for the qualified candidate as per the secured marks and required percentile. Selected candidates will be allowed to participate in further events of Counselling.

Choice Filling:

  • Candidates need to fill in Online choices at the https://dme.assam.gov.in website by using their registration number and Transaction Id generated at the time of registration.
  • Candidates have to fill their choices of colleges as per their priority. They can fill choices as many as they wish.

Allotment Result:

  • Candidates can check the seat allotment status from the DME, Assam at https://dme.assam.gov.in
  • Candidates are advised to download their allotment letter which needs to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted college.
  • Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank, scored marks, and the choices of their preferences.

Reporting to Allotted College:

  • This is the final event when the candidates need to report to the allotted college with an allotment letter before the last date of admission.
  • Seats will be considered as confirmed, once the fee payment and verification of documents will take place.

Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have qualified NEET-PG 2021.
  • Candidates must have the domicile of Assam (Differ for Management/NRI/Other Quota)
  • Candidates must have passed MBBS from an NMC Recognized Medical College.
  • The candidates must have completed 1 year of Mandatory Internship on or before 31st of March 2021.
  • Candidates must be Provisional/Permanent registered with the State Medical Council or National Medical Commission.
  • Any Candidate who has obtained his/her MBBS degree from outside India must have a qualified FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) Screening Test along with 1 year of Internship likely to be complete on or before 31st of Mar, 21.

Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021: Documents Required

Candidates who are qualified NEET-PG 2021 conducted by NBE (National Board of Examination), are eligible as well as to participate in the Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021. Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021: Counselling Process

The Directorate of Medical Education i.e. DME, which can also be visited at https://dme.assam.gov.in is the designated authority of the Govt. of Assam to conduct the Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021. 

DME, Assam conducts the counselling for the allotment of seats in various Medical/Dental/Postgraduate degrees and Diploma courses. Let’s have a look at the percentage of seats divided into different categories.

  • 50% Seats of AIQ in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges
  • 50% Seats under Assam State Category
  • 25.75% Seats for OBC Quota (for candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS from an institute in Assam)
  • 7% of Seats for Schedule Caste Candidates 
  • 10% Seats for Scheduled Tribe Plain Candidates
  • 5% Seats for Scheduled Tribe Hills Candidates
  • 18 Seats for TASA Candidates (Tea State Candidates)
  • 3 Seats for Moran Community

The process of Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021 rightly commenced after the result was out and the registration process began as per the notification of DME, Assam. The sequence of events for Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021 is mentioned below.

First Round:

In the first round of counselling session, only those candidates can register for PG Counselling, who are seeking their MD/MS/PGD seats through All India Quota. Candidates can certainly visit https://mcc.nic.in for registration. Aspirants are required to submit their choice. Candidates whose seats have been allotted need to visit the allotted college within the mentioned time.

Second Round:

In this round, all NEET PG eligible candidates can apply and register at https://dme.assam.gov.in irrespective of the Assam domicile and others. However, earlier choices submitted by the candidates will be considered null. Fresh choices of colleges and MD/MS Seats that need to be submitted are mandatory. 

Mop-Up Round:

This round of counselling is the last one and is subject to the availability of seats after completion of Round 2. The net vacant seats on account of Non-Joining, Non-Reporting of round 2 will be published in the seat matrix and eligible candidates have to submit fresh choices for the Mop-Up round.

Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021: Allotment Procedure

As per the merit list prepared by DME, Assam on behalf of DMER, Assam, shortlisted candidates will be called for Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021. DME, Assam conducts the Assam NEET PG Counselling 2021 on behalf of DMER, Assam. All counselling process is conducted in an online mode. 

Candidates need to register at the official website https://dme.assam.gov.in and take part in the Assam NEET PG Medical Counselling 2021. 

The following sequence of events have to be followed in the counselling process to secure an MD/MS seat in the medical institutes of Assam. 

  • Participating candidates need to register themselves on the Online Portal of Assam PG Medical Admission 2021 at https://dme.assam.gov.in 
  • Post-registration on the counselling portal of Assam, candidates will be asked to fill their preferences of specialty and colleges.
  • Based on the choices filled and seat matrix DME, Assam releases the provisional merit list followed by the final Assam PG medical seat allotment list.
  • Further candidates will have to submit the part academic fee to confirm their seats.
  • Candidates, whose names are included in the seat allotment of Assam PG Medical/Dental will be required to download their allotment letter from the DMER Portal at https://dme.assam.gov.in   
  • Shortlisted candidates are then required to report to the allotted college for payment of balance admission fee, document verification, and reserving the allotted medical/dental admission seat.
